UFC 109 Live Updates and Results Nate Marquardt vs Chael Sonnen Winner – In round 1, both fighters started releasing strikes until Chael scores a takedown and started raining punches and elbows on Marquardt. Moments after getting back on stand-up, Marquardt immediately tries a flying knee that Chael ate. Chael however scored another successful takedown and blasted away on Marquardt until the end of the first round via GNP.

At the start of round 2, Sonnen immediately takes down Marquardt. Marquardt tries for a kimura but Chael manages to escape. Sonnen continues to control the top position. Sonnen explodes with punches. Sonnen’s starts to bleed tremendously from the cut on his face. Round 2 ends with Sonnen raining punches on top of Marquardt.

At round 3, Sonnen takes Marquardt again to the ground. He continues to rain blows with ground and pound. Sonnen continues to control the fight by maintaining the top position. Chael again tried to takedown Marquardt and raceived a guillotine choke attempt. Marquardt seems to have secured the choke but Sonnen was able to escape again. Marquardt switched the position and got the top position. Marquardt tried to steal the fight by exploding in the final seconds of the fight. Chael Sonnen wins the fight via unanimous decision.
