The Togo National Football team was bound to join the African Cup of Nations Tournament. The Togolese football team’s vehicle was attacked with a machine gun by unknown men after the team’s vehicle crossed the border of the Republic of Congo on their way to Cabinda in Angola.
They were on their way to compete with the the Ghana team in Cabinda. This is the first game after the start of the African Cup f Nations Tournament on Sunday in Angola.
The assailants are still unknown and the Angolan government already released a statement condemning the attack and saying that the incident is an act of terrorism.
Despite of what has happened, the games will still continue in Cabinda. Togo’s team are unharmed but their vehicle’s driver was reported dead.
