
A cyclone destroyed thousands of huts and even uprooted trees in several villages in Eastern India. It had also killed not less than 31 individuals. The storm struck Tuesday night in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal state. It had damaged the telephone and electricity lines in the area. Many people suffered injuries in the region, nearly 315 miles northeast of Calcutta.
The villages of Hematabad, Raiganj and Kiran Dighi were severely affected, where police and rescue teams recovered 31 bodies.
