
“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” holds the record of earning $72.7 million in its first day after it overthrew last year’s “The Dark Knight” which earned $67.2 million during the opening day. The Friday haul for the “Twilight” sequel includes a record $26.3 million from midnight screenings alone.
At the current rate of “New Moon”, it might be dubbed as the all-time best opening weekend record beating the previous record holder “The Dark Knight” which earned $158.4 during its first week of showing.
New Moon (Twilight Saga sold as a series: New Moon), is a 2009 romantic fantasy film of the United States. This is based on Meyer’s previous novels based on the novel of the same name that is the sequel to the Mystery of Sutefanimeiya year 2008.
