Mickey Mouse, the world’s most loved mouse, is celebrating its 81st birthday today! Though Mickey Mouse fanatics know that his character first appeared in an animated short film called Plane Crazy, his creators still considers November 18 as his birthdate.
In 1928, Walt Disney created Mickey Mouse and even gave him his voice. Did you know that a lot of producers turned down Mickey Mouse? They were never impressed with the mouse’s appeal as they thought he is just a simple character who will never tickle the imaginations of the kids. He rose to fame when the show Mickey Mouse Club was launched. Up to this day, Mickey Mouse is still the most-recognized Walt Disney character.

We sang “Happy Birthday” to Mickey and made hats. After recess we will draw him and then do a graph on who we love the most “Mickey Mouse” or “Donald Duck.” I think we love them all!!
