This is the first time that a US-born male runner became the grand price winner of the Philadelphia Marathon since 2000 in where he finished first over by more than six minutes earlier today.
The 25-year-old John Crews completed the 26.2 mile course in just two hours, 17 minutes and 15 seconds giving a best time to become the first place in the said marathon. Crews, a native of Lexington, VA, passed the Philadelphia runner Karl Savage near the 23-mile mark and was never threatened after that.
Meanwhile, Jutta Merilainen, a native from Finland and currently residing in Canada won the women’s race for the finished time of 2 hours , 46 minutes and 44 seconds.
Thousands of runners joined the recently concluded 16 annual Philadelphia Marathon this Sunday morning. And to be exact, more that 20,000 runners participated in the said marathon that was held in the historic streets of Philadelphia. These runners raced for a 26.2 miles long track around the central city, the bank of river Manayunk and the Universal City. More than 8,000 runners are registered themselves while 2,000 runners registered for the 8 km race.

Oh yay! I am always so inspired to read results and times etc as I am really really wanting to get back into good shape again myself. I used to be a swimmer and am just wanting to regain my athleticism and it is so motivating to read this! I know that I will definitely need my Topricin pain cream to help with the aches and pains of sore muscles….but it is going to be soooo worth it when I can feel “in-shape” again! Thanks
Sadly I think the only ones who will think this is solid advice, are teh people who already know it.
