Honda Recall Worldwide: Honda Fit Jazz Recall 2010 – After the widely talked about Toyota recall, Honda now joins the bandwagon after it announces its worldwide recall of 646,000 compact automobiles due to the need to examine and fix some issues in the window swtches that may cause smoke, fire or melt down when exposed to liquid. Just last year, a child died when fire erupted inside a motorcar.
Models that were affected in the Honda Recall include the Honda Fit hatchback and the Honda Jazz. The countries who house the manufacturers of such models include China, Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand, India and of course, Japan.
The Honda recall 2010 focuses on the quality and safety of the cars. One Japaneses car maker said, “Under some severe operating conditions, water, rain, or other liquid may enter the driver’s window and reach the master power window switch, resulting in impaired function of the switch, If the master power window switch is damaged as a result of the liquid intrusion, it may result in failure of the switch and overheating.”
Of all the vehicles affected in the Honda recall 2010, 171,372 came from the United Kingdom while 141,140 are from the United States. The Latin America also has a handful of recalled cars, amounting to 229,000.
