We’re here to share with you the recipe and how to make one of the staple dishes during a family gathering, the Honey Baked Ham. What we will be sharing here as a recipe is an easy alternative to traditional Honey Baked Ham recipes out there so that even starters can be successful in cooking their own Honey Baked Ham.
Ingredients:
- 1 10 lb. Ham
- ¾ cup sugar
- 12 pineapple slices
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 10 cloves
- 12 cherries
- 1 cup water
Directions:
- Preheat the oven at 300F
- Cover the ham with the lid or with heavy-duty foil.
- Place ham skin side up on a baking tray and bake for 90 minutes.
- Remove from oven and score the ham placing the cloves in groves.
- In a sauce pan, cook the pineapple slices with water and sugar until a glaze is formed. You can also add pineapple juice as an option.
- Pour the glaze over the ham and garnish with pineapple and cherries.
- Put the ham back into the oven and bake for another 30 minutes.
- Finally remove ham from oven and let sit for at least 15 minutes before carving; this will keep the juices in.
So what will be the simple heating instruction technique for a Holiday Honey Baked Ham? Simply just heat the Honey Baked Ham like how it is labelled. (Yes, the time varies for heating holiday honey baked ham)
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- If the ham is labeled ‘fully cooked’ heat for 8 to 10 minutes per pound, or to an internal temperature of 140°F.
- If the ham is labeled ‘cook before eating,’ heat to an internal temperature of 160°F.
Extra Tips:
- Before glazing a ham, remove all but about 1/4-inch of the fat.
- For a tasty, caramelized coating, sprinkle the fat of the ham with brown sugar which has been pressed through a sieve.

Hey there, I was reading your article and I just wanted to thank you for putting out such great content. There’s so much junk on the internet these days its difficult to find anything worthwhile. I actually have cooked this recipe before, I got this book last month on recommendation from a friend http://ninjahq.com/go/cookingrecipes and it turned out quite nice! I’m extremely eager to try your variation of it though, it looks excellent. I think you might enjoy those recipes, they’re very good. Thanks for the article and tips.
I liked your article and the information that are provided. There are thousands of recommendations out there that are both reliable and not good. If you have any more recommendations concerning natural health or related topics, that would be most appreciated. Keep up the good writing!
Thank you, that wasreally interesting. Actually,I was born in Russia in 1959 but my parents fled the country and settled here to the UK. Honestly, I didnt really care much about my russian past until my mum died recently, now I’ve been trying to find out as much as I possibly can. Seemed like the food was as good a place as any to start from! You dont generally hear much about russian cooking do you? Anyway, I found a a good russian recipe site here that other readers might be interested in .
