Heavy monsoon rains flooded wide areas of northern Philippines which caused flash floods and landslides. Currently, reported casualties have reached 12 people including 2 French citizens and a Belgian.
According to news reports, several European and Asian tourists were traveling near Mount Pinatubo when a landslide occurred, which trapped one of their three vehicles.

The three Europeans and their two Filipino tour guides were swept away by the flash floods and their remains were recovered early today, Friday. The rest of the tour group was able to go to safety.
Ever since its eruption, tons of volcanic debris on Pinatubo’s slopes have always posed a constant danger during heavy rains.

Meanwhile, more than 1,000 residents of Botolan town sheltered overnight at a school after pounding rain opened a Pinatubo dike nearby.

It is estimated that 12,000 people had evacuated their homes. Rescue efforts are currently being done.
