The Federal Government of the United States closed on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. According to U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) site. These announcement was just made several hours ago at 6PM Monday evening.
Telework and Emergency employees must still report for duty as normal. Emergency employees are still expected to report to their job on time, while telework employees must work from their usual telework sites specified in their agreements for work.
The reason for this is that the Nation Weather Service issued a warning of a winter storm in Washington DC. The warning will take effect noon 17:00 GMT on Tuesday and will continue to the next day with snowfall expecting to reach the 10 to 20 inches mark.
