College Football Latest News: AP All-America Team Complete List Announced – The AP recently announced their college football All-America Team on tuesday and the number1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide filed-up six players on the squad and other from any other school.
Oklahoma tackles Trent Williams from Oklahoma Sooners, Russell Okung of Oklahoma State Cowboys, Baylor Bears J.D. Walton and Idaho Vandals guard Mike Luapti wrapped up the line and dominated the offensive line
Heading the list of Crimson Tide players on the first-team All-America list was Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and his chief hole-creator Michael Johnson earned a spot as a guard. On the defensive side of the ball cornerback Javier Arenas, linebacker Roland McClain and defensive tackle Terrence Cody all took honors while kicker Leigh Tiffin was the sixth Crimson Tide on the team.
Ingram’s closest competitor in the Heisman race, Stanford’s running back Toby Gerhart, was also named to the first-team as was third-place finisher quarterback Colt McCoy from the Texas Longhorns. Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy race, also earned an All-America first-team spot.
McCoy had some Texas company as his favorite target, Jordan Shipley, also made the list as did safety Earl Thomas. With three players on the first-team All-America squad Texas was second only to Alabama for most players on the team, a fitting scenario as the two schools will square off in the BCS National Championship Game on January 7.
Rounding out the defensive first-team was TCU Horned Frogs defensive end Jerry Hughes and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Derrick Morgan.
The offensive first-team was completed by Notre Dame Fighting Irish wide receiver Golden Tate and Clemson Tide running back C.J. Spiller.

Very impressive list. I’m huging surprised that Eric Norwood didn’t make this list on the defensive end. Many vaunt the SEC as the best defensive conferences, and he was one of the best defensive players in the conference.
