Former US President Bill Clinton is using his Clinton Foundation Haiti funds to urge Americans and citizens around the world to donate to the relief fund in Haiti.

In a televised appearance Bill Clinton said, “So the most important thing individuals can do, who care, is to send cash — even if it’s a dollar, or two dollars.” Utilizing the Clinton Foundation Haiti will direct these funds to either The Red Cross, Red Crescent, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and other humanitarian groups for the victims of earthquake in Haiti.

In addition, Livestrong, Lance Armstrong’s cancer charity also donated $250,000 to the Clinton Foundation. Armstrong Said: “On behalf of Livestrong, we’ll be donating 250,000 dollars to several organisations that are doing a lot of work down there, one of which is the Clinton Foundation.”

I am a licensed contractor. I am willing to relocate to Haiti to work on rebuilding there. They all need new homes built to some codes there, and I am the one to help do it. Who do I contact for work there? Any investors out there looking for a good guy?

There are too many people in Porta Prince. Set up sites away from the city, where control is possible and establish an enviroment of hope. Remember Woodstock, breakfast in bed for a million. Women and children could be housed separately. This could be accomplished with tents and the beginning of harder structure. This could be accomplished in stages allowing infrastructure to be laid and developed as people are moved. In the event of disaster celebrate the living and show them the possibility. The Haitian men should be utilized as a civilian army and be shown that rebuilding is possible. Get the people out of Porta Prince……away from the carnage….as soon as possible utilize the thousands of Americans, South Americans, Cubans, Europeans etc.
that have it in their heart to help. Let us declare all out PEACE on poverty and pull the whole world into the song….Jah bless the people of Haiti in this dark hour and fill the heart of mankind with the desire for real change…..Philip Sprinkle

sat.jan 16th: just watched Pres Obama press conference…is it possible for low flying US military copters to drop consumer sized bottled water over greater Port au Prince…ASAP?? seems the ground based efforts are hobbled…stranded quake victims cant get to UN trucks bringing water purification pellets, distrust protein bars (think code dates mean ‘not good’..per CNN report..

so, while damaged port & limited airport hobbles efforts to get water, food to the people PLS try to clear way for effective, safe distribution (by low flying helicopters ASAP…perhaps french creole translators can accompany those low flying copters & use exisitng news copts’ fottage to locate where make shift tents cities, people stranded on rooftops, in streets trying to stay safe are…i think of the us planes that flew over cities in WWII.. US soldiers dropped candy bars, from their own ‘kts’ into air…children ran to get the candy bars, that story lives on among survivors all these decades later…one simple gesture …one simple way of giving the displaced occupied peoples during the War, nourishment….i hope you consider this and can QUICKLY clear with haitian govt, the UN and get bottled water right in the hands of those so desparate for a basic need: WATER…thanks, linda

Why are we not sending ships to the port city of Jacmel? This city is in shambles and has just as much devastation as PAP. There is a useable dock that supplies can be offloaded .I know this town; I go there every year to give medical aid. Please, help these people.

  12. Just an idea from me…The supplies are at the airport in Haiti and there is no one off loading them. Can’t we pay the strong Hatians a dollar a day to help get the food to the people?? . Just use the ordinary man or woman to help get water and food to the masses, it seems like an easy soulution to the problem and it would be a win, win situation.

The ShelterBox Program, sponsored by Rotary International, responds instantly to natural and manmade disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those who are most in need. Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless. Delivery of ShelterBoxes to Haiti has already begun. To help, go to http://shelterbox.org/. As the District Governor for District 6150 in Central/NE AR, I wanted to be sure that you knew of this tremendous resource.
